[Garment Technologist]
今天來介紹一下時尚公司裡的一個職位，如果本身是學裁縫的想進時尚業，除了去精品店裡當專業裁縫師外，如果能加強點實力，可以考慮Garment Technologist。
每週有一天是樣品檢查日叫Fit meeting由三個部門的人組成-Buying, designer & Garment Technologist，當然還有試穿Model。
Buyer跟Designer主要是要看樣品跟當初設計的是否一樣，有沒小細節要改，如顏色、鈕扣等等。
Garment Technologist 就像是QA，要檢查版型是否合身。例如: Model試穿的是M號，但版卻做的跟L號一樣，這樣就得要跟供應商在討論改細節。當然GT的工作還要懂一點法規，像是英國童裝有些規定，供應商得提供GA Test Report已確保產品有符合國家安全檢策等等。有時沒收到Test report，供應商是不能出貨的。
GT的工作大制如下:
Responsible for fitting and sealing womenswear.
Drawing up and grading size specifications.
Coordinating fit meetings in house and on site with various customers
Ensuring that critical paths are adhered to.
Working closely with the design team, and creating new specs for development.
Communicating comments to offshore suppliers from the Far East, India, Turkey and Bangladesh
Overseeing and mentoring the junior garment technologist and garment technologist
一開始要變GT會要一段時間，一句老話可以找實習累積經驗後，再找Assistant Garment Technologist or Production Assistant慢慢做起。
